Were y'all catching the hybrids on crappie baits?
Made one of my annual trips to the Point this past weekend. Fishing was good. My nephew caught his biggest crappie ever and brother Chris was a first timer to the lake. Crappie fishing was good. No giants as in the past few years but good quality fish for certain. To my surprise, i learned that they had stocked hybrid stripers in the lake a few years ago. Why would they introduce another fish to compete with crappie is beyond me. If anyone has that information, please let me know. We had a great time catching over 70 hybrids and that many crappie over 3 days. it is always catch and release for me when i go there, although we did keep a few stripers to fry. Heading up again this month to look for the big one. Although to us marsh guys any 2lb plus crappie is a big one lol.

Tbone...yes had 42 first day there...thought they were record white bass lol had no idea they had put those in the lake..but if ya look at the difference you can identify them correctly ..i pull road runners...guess they love those things
I don't think I've ever caught one there.
neither have i...was very surprised at the size and quantity ..the south coves are full of them
I had no idea that they had hybrids in there, ill be making a trip there when i get home. In a few years thats all that will be left in that lake probably.

Hey Bob.....as always a wonderful report which gives the us folks down south some confidence in spider rigging...long lining and other techniques that are not routinely used in the south...Thanks for the report!!!
What’s the limit on hybrid’s
