I went Wednesday, from 1:00 til 5:00 and caught 6 good ones and 6 whole fryers. I haven’t heard any good reports this year. Maybe it’s is the cattails

Try spider rigging off the creek by the beach and before long the crankbait bite will be on

Ok thanks. Umm, Where is the creek by the beach? Just to make it more difficult i dont have a depth finder either. lol
If you launch at the park, you won't even have to crank big motor. You will see the beach (mid lake). Across from the beach, other side is waggoners pocket, before you go in waggoners, that whole area is a big mouth off the main lake. The river channel makes several S turns in that mouth. Depth is 13 to 17 ft over there, Saturday we caught em there from the time we got there, and left em biting. Spider rigging single jigs, 10 ft deep, .4 mph. Try to stay close to Channel. I have a GoPro vid of it, don't know if you can load them on here.
Good Luck and get a depth finder, hard to fish without one.
It's already on. I caught a mess of slabs yesterday. Caught a ton of dinks too. Got out late around 9:45. Headed home at 2:30 and left them biting. Pretty much had to make myself quit. It was fun! Taco Salad on 50ft was killing it! Hotty Totty was ok. Mad Cow produced lots of dinks and catfish. The bass were hitting Spring Craw.
At the risk of sounding dumb, what is Taco Salad on 50ft?
I've been doing a little of both jigging and cranking the last couple months. I started a little early when my jig fishing wasn't going so well. Managed to scrape up a few small messes, but Sunday was a good bite on cranks, so I stuck with it. It dawned on me while I was cleaning them that I only took one pic early in the day. Wasn't even the biggest one either. I need to mount my GoPro sometime.
Excuse my ignorance, but are you using bass rods or jig poles when pulling cranks? Do you hang them off the side or back of the boat? I've never done it just curious how y'all do it.
I fish cypress a good bit. Havnt been lately due to work, I'll be in a camo gator tail and prolly have my chocolate lab with me.
