We did not load the Nets in the boat this morning -- still Catfish on Crappie poles will work you when you catch a bunch... We started culling more small ones, which are Johnnys favoriteas they are very tasty.. I took pictures that i will post tomorrow. The Count was 30 cats that were brought Home and 2 Goos that were 20 inches long. I lost a goo at the boat that was foul hooked that was close to 8 Pounds ---- I put the cleaned Fish on the Scale and it weighed in at 9 Lbs 14 ounces ,,, The Big goo that I lost wrapped up 4 lines that all had to be retied .... Bait was Pieces of Those Cold Worms.
Yes the channel edge is where we catch the most ----- we have also found when all the Bigger cats are caught on one spot, droves of tiny Cats will move in .... We try to let the wind decide what we tie off to, so the boat is over the Channel .. During the drawdown is the best times to see big trees that can no longer be seen and anchor where the boat swings across the structure in 20 ft of water... some of the bigger cats had eggs very close to their spawn.
That is a big ole mess of fish. Congratulations!
