Thread: D'Arbonne Gathering 2016

I got some wonderful news last night! Laikyn informed me that she was going with us! Several of yall have watched her grow up through the gatherings. If any of you have teenage daughters or older than you know how special and precious these moments are when they still want to go fishing with dear old dad!

i know what you mean!!!! special times!! gracie and maggie are coming saturday evening for fish fry. i think killer is coming friday evening and will stay with me saturday and fish. hes pumped!!

i have had some folks ask about this!! here is some info about our meals at the group cabin on friday and saturday nights. we will eat around 630, give or take, each night. there are 2 sides of the group cabin, with the eating/meeting area in the middle. one side is for guys, the other is for girls. we will have guys sleeping on both sides. BUT when we have everyone there for our meals, we will make sure the guys stay on the guys side, and the same for the girls. this way we dont have an embarrassing situation. its gonna be a HOOT!! cant wait to see yall. T minus 5 days!!

just talked to the state park. the "grinder" in the fish cleaning station is broken the high water back in the spring ruined it. they are still waiting on a new one to come in. they have locked the little building where we normally clean fish because fish heads were being stuck down in the grinder even though it was clearly marked as being broken. i requested that they let us use the little building to clean our fish since we could have several groups clean fish at one time. our only other option was a very small table behind the building. they agreed to open the building up for us, BUT WE HAVE TO MAKE DARN SURE WE DONT PUT FISH HEADS IN THE GRINDER IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CLEANING AREA. i will bring some 5 gallon buckets to transport the heads/guts to the lake. yall might wanna do the same. help spread the word that one bad apple can spoil it for all of us!! thanks

Confirmed yesterday, we will not be able to attend. We will be attending a baby dedication service for our first and only grandchild in Dallas Sunday, we will go over Saturday morning so we can spend time with him. Ill miss everyone but there are four grandparents, I cant be the only one that doesn't show up as Ill never live it down.

On another note, anyone passing through Minden can stop and pick up my Bama flag to

hey yall, getting close T minus 1.5 days.

for those of yall staying in the group cabin, let me give yall some information. just so we are all on the same page.

the cost of the group cabin for 3 nights is 755$. and instead of trying to divide it up per night, i just said that there are 10 of us staying in there and that would break down to 75$ each. i didn't factor into this how many nights each person was staying. that would require some calculus and high order thinking and at this point, i don't have it in me. LOL

if anyone wants to "donate" to the cost of the group cabin, ust get with me either friday or saturday nights at supper and i'll be happy to take your donation.

gonna be great. i figure each night that we would try to eat around 630-700. this will give everyone plenty of time to get their fish cleaned and take a shower and get to supper.
