I would like to clarify that I started this thread prior to the widespread flooding. Life is more than fishing. My heart goes out to the families that have lost their homes.

I am hopeful though that it recedes pretty quickly. It's forecasted to be back below 84 feet by Tuesday.

Looks like D'Arbonne may have crested this evening. Here's hoping.

I thought I'd share the highlights of a conversation I had with a member of the Lake board and land owner at D'Arbonne. He said the lake would re-open at 83 ft, and according to the gauges, it's under 83 feet now. He warned that there is a lot of current in the lake, it's muddy, and they expect a lot of debris in the boat lanes. He also asked that fishermen be respectful of fishing around docks and homes that have been damaged or are being cleaned up and repaired.

These guys were hit hard. They want the lake to be enjoyed. They understand that guys like me that have been scheduled for family functions at the State Park should continue to come. That being said, I intend to lend a hand some while there. I'd encourage each of you to do the same.

Thanks for the update and the Flooding did not prevent your Family outing. I have been closely watching the water level and ready to get back on the water. I plan on making any Fishing trip as NO WAKE ZONES in respect to those that live on the lake as that wake will travel a mile.
