    Now I'm a dummy so I may be totally wrong but I thought they weren't opening the gate till the lake reached action stage?

    Tbird, I have a link on lakedarbonnelife.com that takes you to water levels on every area lake/river. Just go to the site, look down the middle column under "blogroll" and click on Area lake and river water levels
