Sorry, Progator135, can't help you with that lake. Good luck getting the information you need.
Doin a little google map stalkin..Saw Wallace lake just south of Shreveoprt...A search revealed that it is "one of the best crappie lakes in the area." But Google earth showed me a very Salvinia overrun body of water. Anybody know anything about it?

The Lord is good. His mercy and love endures forever.
Google Earth is correct. The Salvania is terrible. The lake is shallow and difficult to get around on. The channels are not marked. I have fished it a lot simply because it is down the street from my house. I would NOT consider it one of the better crappie lakes, in fact it is probably one of the worse. Any of the other numerous area lakes would be a better choice

There's a Wallace Lake between Harrisonburg and Jonesville off the Ouachita that's as good of a WP lake as there is. I thought this was about it. Haven't fished it in a number of years since I moved from that part of the world.
There's a few guys I know that kill em on Wallace. Its only about five miles from me. I used to Bass and Crappie fish the lake 15yrs ago. its too bad its covered up, I went out there in my pirogue last year and could get around pretty good, but didn't know where to fish.
I used to live about a mile from Wallace Lake and we would tear the crappie up down there long lining the main channel in the past. Wallace Lake has been in decline for the last few years. I have noticed a declining amount of crappie along with a smaller size average I'm sorry to say salvania and fracking have won the battle on this lake. There are fish left in the lake but nothing like it used to be. I quit fishing it about 2 years ago... it was a beautiful little lake close to the house full of crappie and bass... just fond memories now
You may can have a good day on Wallace. It just takes considerably more effort than any of the other area lakes. If you want to shoot small but numerous gar with your bow, Wallace is a good choice. If you have one of those mudbuddy boats and want to see what it will do, Wallace is worth your trip. If you just want to catch some fish I would not drive past a half dozen other lakes to get there.
this may be a dumb question but, how does fracking hurt a lake or Wallace lake in particular?
