Default Where and how did you get your screen name?

I know this topic has been posted a couple of times but there are some new members on here that may not know some of our stories. Plus I found an old picture to go with my story.
I named my user name after a yellow lab I had at the time "Shadow" She was a great dog but I only had her for about a year and a half before she got hit by a car and killed by my house in the country. Got to hunt her one season and she did good for a new dog, couldn't wait to hunt her the next season but she didn't make it that long. She also liked to go fishing with me and that is where this picture comes from. The funny part about this story is the first gathering that my family and I went to was at Darbonne (I think) and I told my wife that if anyone asked for shadow, that they were asking for me b/c that was my screen name. She said good thing I told her, b/c she would have told them that shadow was dead! Could you imagine the looks on the other members faces if they heard a guy that was coming was now dead?! lol As you can see in this picture, Shadow thought the jigs looked good enough to eat also!

Well most folks think I have a SeaRay boat, but I go by my middle name which is Ray. Don't like first name so always signed my name C. Ray and a buddy of mine made me some music CDs and he made a label for them that showed a boat on the water and named the CD SeaRay's music, so there you go.
Never owned a SeaRay, some cost more than my house.

In the beginning here at c.c, I had a G3 boat so I went by G3 Fisherman. Everybody either called me G or G3....most just G. I later got a SeaArk boat and folks were fussing at me to change my name so I just went with "G" because they were used to it and I was too. Now folks want to know if that stands for Geezer or Gewber.....I just laugh and tell them to pick either one that they both fit lol.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

I got my name from my first grandson. I've always been told that you can pick the name your grand kids call you by teaching the first one to speak your chosen name. Well with much coaching I finally got Logan to say Paw Paw "gene". Now I'm PawPaw "gene" to all, and I like it.

I don't have a cool history with mine....I'm from Louisiana and love to fish (despite the fact I don't get to go as often as I'd like). I tried FishNut, but I believe it was taken at the time, so I added Louisiana to the front. In hindsite, I wish I'd gone with something shorter...maybe LAFishNut. Anyway, you guys are always welcome to call me Scott. I also answer to 'hey you', 'Dad', 'hey Honey' (for my wife only), 'buddy', 'dude', etc....usually just turn my head at any voice. LOL

Grew up on one side or the other of them railroad tracks. At @ 21 I went to work for the railroad as a telegrapher after a hitch in the Navy as a radioman. Left after a year
and started building the F-111 and worked for 5 years not knowing what was happening outside the building re: weather. Had to get outside so hired back with the railroad
as a track maintainer. After a year I requested a chance to operate heavy equipment and got my request honored. Operated on-track 30 & 40 ton cranes and any other
machine I wanted to bid on. After 30 years I became a RetiredRR. (retired railroader). Wife retired from the railroad 5 years before I did. We doubled up on 'em. She was
a PBX operator and later became a Customer Service Representative.

I was pegged with 20watt at my first job out of high school. One of my coworkers that joked and picked with everyone tells me one day, boy you ain't bright enough to be a 100watt.

I was known as 20watt till I quit for good three yrs later. When I signed up here I couldn't come up with a snazzy handle so I resurrect my old nickname.

Well I'm from Cincinnati, OH and in the Ohio vally there's a large salamander called a Hellbender. There's also an old fishing lure named Hellbender and for the past 24 years I've been living in the Finger Lake Region of New York. I have used that name on many web forums over many years. Hopefully one day I will return home to OH and I will drop the NY.
