Default why do my NIGHTCRAWLERS always die?

I don't raise them, I usually buy them at wally world, a neighbor can keep his alive for months, mine always die in a few weeks. I have 2 refrigerators and have tried both of them. I also store wax worms and they are fine, what am I doing wrong?

    thanks

night crawlers can live to be 20 years old, temp and moisture are the biggest factors in their death. keep them at the right temp and moisture they will keep a long time.

Are these Canadian nightcrawlers? What kind of environment, bedding and feed are you giving them?

Basically, you have them starving in their own poop. You'll have to change their bedding and feed them to keep them alive. And they'll need a lot more space than the bone stock worm container. You have to care for them just like a pet dog or cat.

i get several weeks out of a box in my frig , they seem to be ok as long as I dont leave a dead one in the box and dont let them get warm ,
most of the time ours get to visit the water multiple times before the box is empty, one thing for sure the wrong temp will fade them right quickly

I keep Canadian nightcrawlers alive for months too in the same box. I keep them in the upper refrigerator door which is a little warmer than the other places in the refrigerator.
