    I use the "pupa" of the mealworm, and not the actual mealworm.It's like a cross between a maggot and a waxworm and they love it. Using double hook leaders and two rods, with slip floats, the other day I caught four at the same time...Lol

    Wax worms are great bluegill bait, at least as good as meal worms, if not better. The downside is they’re not as easy to raise, and they don’t live as long.

    Crappie will hit them, too, but they work best for gills, IMO.

    I do the same but use wheat bran instead of oats and potatoes rather than carrots .(POTATOES ABOUT ONCE A MONTH ) . I now have 4 trays .

    You mean, you don't separate out all the different stages,right ?

    CORRECT , WOULD HAVE MORE WORMS IF I DID . I DO SEPERATE WHEN CHANGING WHEAT BRAN . IF YOU WANT BETTER NUMBERS I SIMPLY ADD ANOTHER TRAY .

    If someone lived close by me I would give them some to start their colony.I don't even know how to sent something like this by mail , plus I think it would be too hot to send right now, with 100 F around here lately.

    Eagle 1 You say you have 4 bins..Are they the stacked kind with 1 with screen bottom...Or do you just have 4 bins and hand separate as needed.. Or just let them do there thing in same bin

    I separate some but for the most part I let them go . I find that The four will supply me just adding wheat bran .
