The 13q holds 1/4lb of minnows nicely. That's about 5-7 dozen. They have plenty of room to move. The net makes changing the water quick and easy too. If you will be moving it from car to boat or using it bank fishing I would recommend the 13qt one. I love it and would buy another one in the future. I got super lucky with mine. I entered a raffle for $11 and won it. Before having it I would not have paid that price by just seeing it online or on the shelf but after having one and using it I would gladly buy one now. So far it's kept most of the 1/4lb of minnows alive for 2 weeks. We lost maybe 10-12 and used a few fishing and my dad has kept them on his porch since 2/16 and said most are still alive. They may be alive when I get back down there next weekend.

I pay $5.50/lb for mediums here locally. 1/2 lb is $4.20 with tax. They also sell them by the dozen for $1.15, but never understood why anyone wouldn’t just buy a 1/2 pound when you figure the cost. Asked one of the girls working one day if people bought them by the dozen and she said “you’d be surprised, more people do than not”. Sure is nice to have a bait farm close.

$2.00 doz in Fayetteville. I usually only get to fish 1 day a week so by the dozen works best for me

The reason I am asking as a friend started to sell minnows and thinks $3.50 a dozen for fatheads is a good price. I do not agree. However guys are buying them!

I guess if the market is paying that price it must be decent for the area. Some people will pay more for convenience then to go a little bit out of the way to save.

    $1.80/dozen is actually fairly cheap.
