    Actually I measure it by weight, peat moss and manure pound for pound, but with the peat in a wetted/wrung out state. Sorry for the late response. I moved and was without internet for awhile.

    Got 2 issues;;
    1 african guys up the wall tryin to go back to africa with light on 24/7 just shining on top of lid with holes in it... NEW for me had a pound about 2w...Moisture seems OK...bedding 50/50 Kow/ Peat....lime ,PH about 7 with 2 PH meters....Temp controlled about 73deg day/nite....Got R Wigglers and Lou Swamp...in seperate Zipboxes...and they out of site most of time..Happy I guess...
    2 Maybe I aint feeding enough..Is there besides don't overfeed any rule of thumb on ounce feed per week per pound of worms...
    I sprinkle 1/4 to1/2 handfull once a week..of worm chow that came with worms...Figured I would use it up before I got crumbles/R pellets

    African nightcrawlers are a pain in the butt. The only way to contain them is with a ziploc weathershield tote with holes drained in the middle of the lid, not on the sides. That way they fall off the lid before they reach the middle. Light does not deter them. They are pretty much suicidal.

    The swamp and red wigglers are pretty docile, light keeps them in place. There's no set rules for feeding them, just don't overfeed so the bed does not turn acidic.

    I would lightly sprinke the surface(think parmesan on pizza) and see how that works. Ideally you want all the food eaten in three or four days and then feed again.

    After a month you will have a bumper crop of baby african nightcrawlers. At that point you will have to take some fishing often so they don't stunt. In my experience they breed just about as fast as the red wigglers.

    They are just a variation on the red wiggler.

    They breed faster, stay on the hook better, and have a bit of an odor.
