Default Capps and Coleman minnow rigs

I just bought some Capps and Coleman 3/8 oz rigs at Walmart on clearance for 5 bucks and i was wondering what s the best way to fish them off a peir ? Can I fish it on bottom and hold my pole and wait for a fish to bite or should I fish it under a bobber ? I'll probably be using this on pier at wind point park at lake tawakoni Texas March 15 th through the 18th

just tight line it. Try holding it at different depths until you find out what depth they are. Start at the bottom and then come up a little a little at a time and see where you get bit the most. Just move around different spots and do that each place. maybe you'll find just the right spot and depth that's holding some fish. Crappie most likely be close to a pier post or some submerged structure right at or under the pier. Unless something is sunk out away from the pier.

I agree with doggone but I would also be prepared to use them under a slip float and cast them out and very slowly reel them back in, as there may be some structure out from the pier...it always pays to be prepared.
