Didn’t get an early start but had constant action, these were the best of the dozen I kept. That red boat was following me around and had Taterlicious with him this time. They were busy!!!
I picked up skeetbum and headed for the lake on one of my rare weekend outings. We were off to a late start, but it was a nice morning , too nice not to go.
We made it out into the lake and took a look around to see what was going

The Gathering is over and we are back home. We had wonderful weather and a wonderful time. We did not have a big turn out but with all that is going on in our world it is understandable. We had 15 in attendance this year with great fellowship,

Looking to catch the biggest crappie of your life?
Spring fishing at night, from when the ice is separating like continental shelves, to the beginning of summer flowers, has brought me the greatest size fish of my life in 2021.

There was a day when I was a bit more energetic and quicker with my camera on my phone . That was not yesterday
Struggled to get images captured yesterday for sure in a stiff northwest wind and struggled a bit to get specimens for

I was casting a jig and bobber to shoreline blowdowns catching some nice crappies. As I was moving to the next set of blowdowns I was watching my hummingbird. I saw some wood on the bottom in 15ft and it was loaded with fish so

I thought I'd share this on the main forum although you may have seen some of this on the FL forum.
I dropped Tomtom off, and picked up Billbob at the Orlando Airport. Quite the coincidence. Tomtom's visit had been planned, and Billbob's was kinda spur of the moment. When it rains, it pours. All summer long, and actually for the last year or so, during this pandemic, I've had very few visitors. I got to fish every day for about two weeks, with other people and not alone! Yay me.
Well over all the years I have been coming to Darbonne gatherings, this year's fishing was BY FAR the best for me! And I brought a buddy with me that has never fished here before. Man we had a blast! We caught 20 yesterday fishing from 8

Beautiful day to be on the water. No wind… first stop was Flint River Outdoors to deliver some gold hooks. Next stop
Was finding the trash piles along edge of channel. Fish were scattered but fooled a good mess of fish. Good to be on

Hello folks. I'd like to say I have been lurking around this site for quite some time and thought it was time to contribute. I look forward to adding what little bit I know to this great forum.
Slimjim and I hit Monroe at first light. It seems many others had the same plan. True to form I spent the first 2 hours netting Jim’s fish. Glad I could make myself useful. Finally I put an average size slab in the cooler. 12:30pm we had 11

I will tell of a great event in spite of cool, windy conditions. Several folks fished with mixed results. Or should I say that several folks braved the 15+ mph winds. My flat bottomed boats stayed in their berths and I helped a little with

It would be challenging to visit all the great lakes, ponds and rivers overflowing with numerous big crappie. There are so many, but let’s narrow it down to lakes and even a shorter list with lakes that are part of Mississippi Crappie Trail. Now, I only have six lakes to pick from and here is a look at my trip to Barnett Reservoir, Grenada Lake and Lake Washington leaving out Arkabutla Lake, Enid Lake and Sardis Lake due to time.
I’m starting with Barnett Reservoir or called Rez by the locals. Barnett has population of black and white crappie with around 33,000-acres managed by the

The weather here has turned much colder in the last week or so. Thought I would toss some earth worms in the colder water. The gills ate 'em up! Fishing from the bank, twelve were snagged in about 45 minutes before the 45 degree temp and cold
