Default KY Lake info for March

I have been out of the net for a while. Just returned from across the big pond. Want to bring my 13 yr son ( his first trip) to Kentucky Lake for crappie 2 wk ends in March. I have not fished it for 10 yrs or better and in the need for a few tips. While at the Fort remember areas comming out of Parris Landing. Are the waters still good for the Specs. All ideas are appriciated.

... and thanks for your service !! And Welcome to Crappie.com !!

If you're thinking about the Paris Landing area, you might want to post a query on the Tenn State Forum, too. Might get a better idea of what's going on, in that part of the lake. Might even want to PM "Cane Pole" ... he's a Paris Landing area Crappie slayer, Nam Vet, and a heck of a nice guy.

If you ain't been on KY Lake for 10+ years ... you're going to want to read thru this entire article, to bring you up to speed on the changes that have taken place there : Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources - Kentucky Lake - Crappie Movement Study

    Default Welcome Back

Welcome back, and as CP said thanks for your service. Although I have never fished the Paris Landing area(but would love to), every week I check out the Paris Landing Fishing Report by Steve McCadams @ Steve McCadams, Professional Waterfowl Guide, Crappie and Bass Fishing . This report has some great info in my opinion and I usually use his advice for fishing the Northern part of the lake. He seems to be very knowledgable and definately knows that part of the lake.Good Luck. I hope you and your son catch a boat load of slabs.
