Default Green river lake ramps going private?

Anybody see anything about this? How do you feel about it? I sure hope the ramps don't end up like they are on Herrington. Also hope the dock owners don't make it hard on us fishermen since they cater to the out of towners. Personally i think it sucks.

I believe some areas on Green are going to be co-ops (COE+Marina) and the Day Use areas (picnic shelter, ramp, parking lot, fishing piers) will be managed by the marina at that site. I saw no change in the parking fee ($5) or shelter day use fee ($50) in the article.

Like you, I'm still wondering what "management" actually means in relation to the marinas taking over those duties. The article did mention mowing, cleaning, etc. so that may be the only change.

I'd suggest calling Holmes Bend Marina & Resort and ask them what this "co-op" business entails, and what (if any) changes are to come next year.

Looks like HB Marina is in charge of that, now. The article even says if you have questions about passes, contact the marina.

Not really sure how that's gonna work though. How are marina personnel going to police the parking lot ?? (like they ain't got anything better to do than check the windows of every vehicle in the lot 24/7) And it wasn't that long ago (June 2024) that the COE Green River Lake FB page said they were gonna start charging $5/vehicle, wherever they parked (picnic shelter, beach, ramp). They best have some signs up before you get to the shelter area, or there's gonna be some problems IMHO.

Day use area or launch is $5.00 /day anywhere else in corps parks that they charge so shouldn’t be that big a deal. Beach, shelter house, ramp all are part of the day use area in other corps parks.Put signs up in plain view so they can’t be missed stating $5.00 per day usage fee & do like they do at Cumberland, Dale Hollow etc. & that’s check to see if you have a permit whether daily or yearly. Must be placed on dash, rear view mirror etc. in plain view. They let you know right quick at Cumberland with a letter stating so & if you do it a second time there is a fine to pay to the corps of engineers. Really pretty simple. Been that way for probably 30 years everywhere else in corps parks. Believe me I’ve had the letter on my vehicle when getting back but I had my yearly pass & just forgot to hang it on the mirror. I called & gave them my name & permit number & good to go.

I hope they don't end up like Herrington. It costs way to much to launch there anymore

Yeah, article says it starts on Jan 1, 2025

I don't think the marina is going to have anything to do with the ramp fee or yearly passes .... just maintenance of the day use areas.
