Thank you Pappy for your volunteer work all those years. Some one young would make a great leader, organizer..... Lot of work behind the scenes.

I've run or helped run Spring Flings since 1999 ... starting in Fall of 1999 thru to Spring of 2005 I ran Spring Flings & Fall Brawls on Watts Bar Lake, Tenn. Shortly thereafter Chucky & I held a few tournaments and Spring Flings until Chucky's health put him out of commission. I took over and have run them since. I think it's time now for me to take a back seat & let someone new take the reins.
I can & will provide any info needed, such as contact info for the picnic pavilion rental. I can also provide items like banners, tickets for the raffle, and many items for the cookout (forks/spoons/salt/pepper/etc.) The new Host can look back in the previous year's posts for how they were worded as far as the "we ain't responsible for ... " disclaimer, volunteer listing, food items/quantities needed (considering how many people attend), etc.
I can help provide some raffle items from BnM & Crappie.com ... or the new Host can choose to do all of the soliciting on their own. I can also provide a "sample" solicitation email showing how to introduce yourself & explain what goes on in these events, and how any product sent to you will be distributed to the attending members & guests. Email solicitations should probably start going out no later than mid December.
I would just ask that it remain a Free to Attend event, and no "tournament for prizes or money" be involved. That's how it's always been & been successful that way. PicNic Pavilion rental is $50 for the day ... and that money can be reimbursed by "passing the hat", if need be.
Anyone interested in taking over can PM me with any further questions or info they may require.

Well done Pappy. I’ve attended a few of these events and they have always been a blast, well organized and a great representation of the Crappie.com family. Hopefully who ever picks up the torch will continue the fine tradition you have left behind
