Default Green River Memorial Day Weekend

Fished Robinson Creek Sunday and Monday morning early. Keepers caught 18" deep on a black and chartruse crappie magnet. Cover close to bank. 10 on Sunday, 8 on Monday. 3 hours of fishing. Some up to 12 inches. As info.

Used to fish that area, but mostly around the island (on the marina side). Did venture up into Robinson Creek a few times, mostly hitting the first few creeks and pockets on the South bank. I think the first Black Crappie we ever caught from Green were caught in the back of one of those pockets, on a sand/pea gravel section of the pocket.
Now, I am talking decades ago, and always around the end of the third week of April ... so it was way before the KDFWR put in all those "fish attractors".

COE report says water temp at dam is 77deg (surface to 10') ... but, what was the temp up in Robinson ?? And did any of the fish still have any eggs, and if so what condition were they in ??

All were released so not sure about their eggs. 2 black crappie caught. Water temps were Sunday 72 and Monday 76. Bunch of short fish but keepers caught as well. Never caught fish this shallow this late in the season. But on the other hand never tried them this way with a single pole. My friend I was fishing with always uses single pole, shallow.
Thanks CrappiePappy thanked you for this post
