    Default Campgrounds Cave Run Lake

Looking into try Crappie at Cave Run next April. Looking at campgrounds Zilpo and Twin Knobs. Are they pretty good sites? Can you get a spot without reserving one or need to reserve one? How is Crappie at Cave Run?
    THANKS

Can’t speak to the crappie fishing there as I haven’t fished there in a few years but IMHO those campgrounds are two of the best in the state. I grew up in them. Reserve America to choose your site or they do have some first come first served.

I agree on them having great campgrounds, I also grew up camping there and fished Cave Run all my life. If your fishing the spring for crappie you shouldn’t have much trouble with campsite availability. If you wait till summer you about always have to reserve to get a spot. As far as fishing goes, it just varies from spring to spring and day to day. Cave Run is notorious for rising really fast from rains and then they pull the far out it to get it back down, usually when they are pulling hard I stay in the Long Bow Arm of the lake. Good luck and God Bless.

Yeah I got a 30 foot camper to stay in. Looks like Twin Knobs is where we will try and go to.
