Numbers of fish on both lakes are coming back enough to where a fellow could catch them well enough without it, but there is no hope of being competitive tournament fishing on KY/Barkley without it.

I still have mixed emotions about Livescope but have to admit it’s a lot of fun. It takes a lot of guess work out of finding fish, no denying that. But after spending a lot of time with it have come to realize it actually takes more skill than a lot of people realize to really use it at the highest level consistently. And I am eating a little crow by admitting that. Realize a lot of people won’t agree with that statement about skill, but know a lot of people that still struggle that have it on the boat now. I concentrate harder now than I ever did fishing old school. I think it’s more of a case of different skill sets.

But one of the big fish in those pictures above I chased around 50-60 yards with the boat before she stopped and I caught her. In the back of my mind I have to admit that maybe we have crossed the line when we have that kind of capability. Sorry for the long answer to a simple question. Take care my friend.
Thanks Pab. I have it on my boat but very rarely even turn it on. I realized I didn’t need it unless I’m going to fish competition. I’m not good enough using it to chase down an individual fish. Takes a lot of the fun out of anticipation for me. I’m still old school I guess.

I have a buddy that has LS on his boat and it is very impressive. But chasing a fish 50-60 yds and catching is extremely impressive! I’d say eventually I will end up upgrading to MegaLive one day but I just upgraded from a fishing kayak I had for 10 years to a real boat last year so still learning my favorite techniques. Nice catch!
