Thread: Date for Spring Fling @Green 2022

After considering Easter & the CUSA tournament schedule (on Green) that several of our members may be fishing .... "right now" the Spring Fling date will have to be on April 23rd. Barring any Covid restrictions/lockdowns interfering with that date .... it's our best chance at having one this year.

It will be held in the usual place ... Holmes Bend Marina @ the COE picnic shelter (located above the ramp parking lots)

COE ramp charges $5/day & their payment machine only takes credit/debit cards (no cash).

Fishing will begin at safe light/daylight and end by 1PM (local time)

Size limit is 9" .... creel limit is 20/person/day

Cancellation of the event will occur if lake is flooded or if severe storms are forecast for the area ... and cancellation announcement will be posted on here 48hrs prior to the event if at all possible.

Lodging is available thru Holmes Bend Marina & Resort and the Holmes Bend Campground (not owned by the same people). You will be responsible for contacting those places for cabin/room or campsites ... and in the event of cancellation you will be responsible for any contractual obligations with those places. Neither of these facilities are sponsoring this event, so your lodging contract is between you and them.

I will be posting a volunteer sign-up list for those that wish to contribute time, food, materials, or prep items for the event & fish fry following the event.

The Getaway cabin will be "headquarters" for the event and is already booked for Fri-Sun of that weekend. (FYI)

Holmes Bend Marina, Crappie.com, the COE, and myself are NOT RESPONSIBLE/LIABLE for any accidents, injuries, or other potential problems or negative outcomes. Attending members (& guests) are responsible for their actions, equipment, & behavior.

The Spring Fling is free to attend for any Crappie.com members & their guests.

There will be a ticket drawing for prizes for MEMBERS ONLY. (there will be a sign-up list for members screen name/real name & tickets will be given out to only those members that sign the list)

Got a studio cabin rented two days ago. Wife and I are looking forward to getting out.
