I wouldn't think after all these years that any bottom feature would still be the same as when the lake was made. The diamond shape with grooves and the slick gully to either side of it just doesn't seem "natural", but I don't know of any excavation equipment that would have left any such pattern in the bottom, either. There is the old Boone Rd that goes thru that part of the lake, and they did lay stake beds & palettes in that area, according to all my old maps .... but even those don't jive with what's showing on your side scan.

This is at the first ramp but not in the area of the were those palettes were put, they were on the under water island. Thought it could be were they removed Boone rd and piled dump truck loads but it is awful symmetrical.
