Tell me more , what it mayfly hatches?and why does it matter?
I was on Barkley Tuesday and Wednesday bass fishing and soon realized I should have been bluegill fishing. There were mayfly hatches everywhere. There seemed to be more on main lake banks than up in the creeks. They were also on the barge tie ups. It would be a good time to take a kid fishing.

Thank you
Saw the first small hatch this AM on LBL side of KY Lake. Fish and birds found it quickly! We've always called them Willow Fly hatches in case somebody is confused.

Back in the 50's we vacationed at a small resort on the LBL side of KY Lake, it was called Pearl Forest Resort and they sure were nice people.
We fished off the dock at night and the Mayflys swarmed our lantern and we caught fish!
Such fun!
We still vacation at KY Lake but I miss that side.

PS: I was a young lad at the time mentioned above but I do remember what a challenge it was for my Dad to drive while pulling the cabin cruiser.
Gravel roads (big rocks) up and down and round and round. After Dad told us we were almost there it seemed to take forever.
My wife and I have been to LBL several times and I have often wondered where that resort was, I would love to find that area.
