    Default Tville 5/6

After work trip turned out to be a blessing. Hit the water at 5:00 and fished until 7:30, keeping 13 really nice crappie and releasing 20 or so. Post Spawn pattern @ Tville is upon us, the fish are really scattered out in deep water. Some are related to submerged wood and some seem to be in the middle of nowhere. Lots of widow makers floating around with the latest rain, lake is up 7 foot or so. Y’all be careful out there.

Those fish don't look "post spawn" to me But, seriously ... yeah, it seems like they've been in that "pattern" for several weeks.

And yeah, you're right about the lake being up (5.28ft over pool) and that makes for a lot of driftwood being blown around.

Good job getting the young man on some Slabs, and thanks for the report/pics.

I’m catching a lot more keeper sized males out in open water, and the females by and large seem a lot “flatter”. I haven’t fished water any less than 15 feet deep, and as long as I keep catching them out in the open water I’ll stay out there. I talked to three disgruntled fisherman as I was putting in @ Settlers who all were complaining of no fish, fished out, or the rain has em messed up. While I’d say 2/3 of those statements are true, I truly feel one of the benefits of being a deep water oriented angler is that those fish aren’t as affected by cold fronts, and a bunch of rain. If I wasn’t so lazy I’d get up in the shallows with my jig pole and dunk jigs around brush, but what can I say I’m spoiled. Saturday I’m going to put in a full day on the water so I’ll have a better handle on what’s really going on.

Went to Settlers Trace today. My first experience at T-Ville. My buddy was trying out a boat he had bought and it had some issues. That kinda limited our fishing time. The fish were very scattered but I wound up with 8 or 9 keepers with the biggest around 13 inches. The 2 biggest I caught were up a cove with a lot of stickups and the water was down right muddy. I gave mine to a guy we met at the ramp. I thought at least one of us would have a good mess. He said he caught his in a shallow cove over structure. He had caught a bunch of 9 inchers that looked like they were about to pop. This has been a crazy spring for sure. I had a great time and will be going back again.

9 inchers are not legal to keep.

He never kept the nine inch fish. He said he had caught a bunch about that size and they looked as if they were still full of eggs.

Well if any of y’all see this rig on the lake and want to tell some lies to each other I’ll be out here all day. Fat bald guy with a chocolate lab missing his tail, can’t miss us. I see they dropped the lake a foot yesterday so it will be interesting to see what it did to the fishing. Falling water usually means a slow day but when you’re a working man you don’t always have the luxury to pick your days, you just go. Y’all be safe out there.
