    Default Treetop Crappie

Another good day on Tville boys. Smoke em while we got em. They are exactly where you think they should be, it’s on like a pot of neck bones right now. Caught all my fish in 20-30 feet of water, 10-12 feet*
    down.
*I do not beat the bank, period. If this is your style, I’d say you’ll probably catch some fish right now. I fish open water year round and do just fine. Without quality electronics it wouldn’t be possible, so take my reports with a grain of salt. I could do no wrong today, all colors seemed to get it done. Y’all be safe.

Took seven of my grandchildren fishing this past week. We were blessed. Caught and cleaned 72 crappie and 3 bluegill. Farm pond bank fishing can be lots of fun!

What kinda water temps did you find today ?? I'm thinking about hitting it Tues in the hopes that a couple of warm days will head them towards the bank in bigger numbers than last time ... and to get ahead of them being driven off the banks by the coming "S***" Tues night.

Though, I will be tempted to put down the casting rods & haul out the long rods if all I'm getting from the banks is dink males and the occasional keeper.

    Thanks for the report !!

Water temp was 64 degrees yesterday. I bet Tuesday will be a doozy, going to try and be out there myself.

When I see em like this on the ol Helix, it’s usually not a matter of if, it’s when they will bite. I spoke with the creel survey operator for KDFWR in length last night over the phone ( Capt Jim), and he said about 20% of the people he has been talking to are wearing them out, and most people have been struggling somewhat. Probably explains the parking lot being somewhat empty on the weekends. I will say I’m keeping one for every 6 or 7 i throwback if I had to give my best guess. Most are 8-9.5”, so the next year or two looks promising.
