    Default Green River Lake

I went to Green River Lake today, first time there. The lake was muddy from the recent rains and the crappie had lockjaw. The wind was rough while I was there. I spotted a lot of fish on side scan and livescope, but couldn’t get them to hit anything. Could get a few to follow the jig but that’s it. I tried multiple colors, even nibbles. Didn’t have minnows, maybe that was the trick. There was a tournament today (I wasn’t in it) but heard 1st was just over 7 lbs, and 3rd was just over 3 lbs, big fish 1.25 lbs.

Strange that the wind was such a problem down there, as it was almost non-existent up here in Lex. when my buddies & I went to Cabela's to see Tim (t.slabseeker) and check out the Crappie Madness sale going on.

I'd just like to know how the tourney winners were fishing to get 7lbs in 7 fish, but if I had to guess I'd say they were dead stickin' if using jigs.

I drove across the river yesterday below the dam and they are pulling the lake hard, dropping it 1 ft. per day this week. That usually affects the fishing.

Inbowkiller, can you share the water temperature when you were on Green?

Inbowkiller, I would not feel bad. Man, If the 2nd place team could not catch 7 legal crappie, it must have been tough for all on the lake on this day. Again, when things get tough, live minnows are hard to beat even though they may be a pain to use versus a 'gig'. I love using gigs, but always have a couple dozen minnows with me in case they will not bite a gig no matter how you fish the gigs.
