Well We had a great time at old Hickory. We put in at Flippers bait shop and fished station camp creek and Spencer creek. It was 17 degrees, water temperature was 43. We succeeded in finding a bunch of man made structure but not a bunch of fish
We did catch a few nice fish 20 feet deep on or near the bottom. One note, that lake shallows up real quick out of the channels.
Thanks CrappiePappy thanked you for this post

Wish I had seen this earlier. I wouldn't have been much help with the fishing tips but could tell you about navigating the lake. I duck hunt down there. It is a squirelly lake sort of like barkley. Goes from 40-50 fow in the channel to 4 fow on a flat in about a boat length.

Station camp creek does have a bunch of pvc dropped in it. That is where Jim Duckworth has a bunch of stuff dropped. Getting in there is not much fun. The creek channel that hits the main river channel is about 20' but the flat on either side is around 7'. I do my best to stay in the channel just to be safe. There was a run-about out near the mouth of spencer creek sunk for several years with just the bow sticking out. That point is covered in stumps and sunk logs.

You guys were right in the area of the lake I frequent. We usually put in at Lock 4 access. I have also been using Cairo access to get to the blinds on Unit 1.

Cormorants are stupid thick aren't they?
