Default Back on Kentucky and Barkley Lakes

Hey guys. My wife and I just recently completed a move from Somerset back to my old stomping grounds on Kentucky and Barkley Lakes in Western Kentucky. It's great to be back, and yes, I've already caught some crappie on both lakes, with a nice 2 pounder coming from Eddy Creek one day last week. We made the move to be closer to family. Currently, we are renting a house in Old Kuttawa on Lake Barkley thereby giving us time to decide if we are going to buy or build a new house. Don't know yet if I am going to operate my Fishing Creek guide service here. I love guiding, but guiding is hard work and though I am in great health, I'm just about to turn 69 yrs old. Maybe it's time for more "me" time especially with all this Covid stuff going on. Dunno, will just have to wait and see. But I am glad to be back! I have fished Kentucky and Barkley Lakes all my life, and I'm close enough here to make an occasional trip to Reelfoot Lake (another lake I truly love.) Just wanted to pass this information along to you. I've had a few folks already contacting me about trips, so I'll try and make my decision soon. Hope everyone had a safe and good Thanksgiving. I'm praying that things are much improved for all of us by Christmas!

Hey, Capt. Steve .... let me know if/when you decide to stop guiding & I will cancel out your guide postings so you won't be getting contacted. And if you should decide to continue to do some guiding trips on KY/Barkley, we can make the appropriate changes in your guide listing & wherever else is needed.

Congratulations on the safe move Captain Steve. Had fun and learned a lot from you this past summer on Dale Hollow.

    Blessings, John
