November used to be my favorite month on Ky lake. Don’t know how it is now. We stopped going about 4 years ago since we were struggling to catch fish. Not saying it’s necessarily the fishing, we just seemed to stop finding them. Best of luck! Hope others can give you some good feedback.
I’m really wanting to try it again myself honestly!!

That is a tough one. We had several years in a row with bad spawns and are missing several year classes. We did have good spawns in 2018 and 2019 according to Kdfwr and I see signs of improvement of younger fish on both lakes, especially Kentucky. There has been some really nice catches on the lakes lately but have also been a lot of days most have struggled. But even at the best of times mid October fishing to me can be fickle unless you really know these lakes well and even then still fish tough a lot of days. As mentioned above, November more specifically mid November would be my recommendation for a fall trip, keeping in mind the weather can be more iffy. Not to say you couldn't come over and have a great trip now but I would strongly recommend getting a guide for at least a day if you do decide to come unless you are super comfortable with your electronics and finding fish on big lakes. Things just aren't to where you can come over and expect them to jump in the boat with the current age structure of our crappie right now.

dr crappie, Have fished there in 2018, 2019. Tough fishing, fished HARD every day 8-10 hours to get 10-15 decent keepers. I did NOT have the latest electronics, just old school fishing submerged brush piles and drop-offs. So, if you go, get a guide for at least one day to determine the depth/areas they are at. Just don't use the guide's fishing areas. The wind pretty much determines where you fish. If the wind is over 10-15mph, stay away from the main lake. Find a bay to fish in.
