Default did the crappies stopped biting?

I havent been crappie fishing for a few months and have not seen any reports on here like before...has the crappie bite slowed down a lot during this time of the year or is everyone just keeping their mouth shut ? I'm planning to go Taylorsville or green this weekend, hopefully I can find something and that the water is not too muddy from the rain that we got.

Don't think either lake should be muddy ... they've both stayed only a few inches over Summer Pool for the last week or so.

I think it's just been too dang hot/humid for many folks (like me), and some may have gone back to work.

Would have gone to Green & fished with Slabeye, but on the evenings/nights he was off there was a good chance of thunderstorms, so we didn't chance it. I went to Herrington awhile back, and spent 3 of the 4 hours there at the dock waiting out a thunderstorm. Went to Cedar Creek not long ago and spent most of the evening/night finding out that there were no fish in about 10 different stands of timber, and the rest of the time there just getting used to fishing with my Livescope.

Prior to that I was without my boat for a couple of weeks while the big motor underwent repairs/maintenance.

Don't you know the fish can't bite when they're wearing a face mask??

Can’t speak about Ky but up here in Pennsylvania the bite is outstanding. Most people think they have to look for them in deep water at this time of year but the black crappies will stay in shallow water all year. I’m fishing a jig/ bobber combo in 10ft water and getting my limit in less than three hours most days I’m out. Nothing huge but good thick ten inchers.

I have been fishing a few days a week at Green. The water temp is around 90, so the bite has only been good the first hour or two of daylight. I’ve been fishing in the evenings after work some too. Seems like they finally start hitting right before the sun goes down. Not sure how you plan on fishing, but check 15’-20’ brush piles at daylight, should be able to pick though some small fish to get a mess. Good Luck!

It’s been a year with ups an downs for sure. For me and fishing, more downs than ups. Last Wednesday we fished for less than three hours before storms ran us off. We found them on flats just off the channels up in skinny water while pulling jigs. It was good to catch a few, even if they were short. Barren River Lake.

Fished Geen this morning from daylight until 10 am. Caught only 7 keepers but had a steady bite the entire morning. All on jigs 14 FOW. Lots and lots of dinks. Nice mess with a 2lb channel.

I went on Saturday from 4:30pm until 8:30 pm and manage only one 8 inch crappie...I was targeting bass for the majority of the time though but when I came across a brush pile I had to try for crappie but it seems like they didn't want to cooperate with me.

For me today, yes. They stopped biting. Worst day I can remember at taylorsville. 2 short fish. Loaded the boat on the trailer at 10 am and headed home
