Green River still biting
Went to Green River last week with a partner for the 1st time since this virus thing started. We fished a new part of the lake that I have never fished before. Ended up with 31 keepers and a ton of dinks. Yesterday we went back to same area, never got more than 1/2 from boat ramp. We ended up with 2 limits. Tried jigs and minnows and could not get a hit on a jig. Fish were in about 15 fow and down 7-8 feet and full of eggs. Caught some really nice size ones. We were spider rigging and I have been teaching him how to spider rig. We went in his boat for the 1st time. If you seen us going in circles it’s because he is still trying to operate the boat and take a fish off at the same time ???. We had 4 hits at one time and he about went nuts. Even tho it is crazy some times I think he’s hook. Below is nice one I caught.

Nice Day! I also caught a crappie this weenend. It was only about 5' deep. When i openied her up she had eggs.... My question is, have they not spawn yet? Are they late?

Some are being caught that are already spawned out & others that have yet to do the deed. The answer to "Are they late ?" is basically ... YES, they are, some by a month or more & all because of the cold spell & rains.Originally Posted by Kevopro
What I haven't heard about, yet, is females with egg sacs that are turning dark ... indicating the fish is absorbing the eggs. They instinctively know when the conditions are no longer favorable for the fry to survive, so they absorb the eggs in order to not waste the nutrients in them. This can also happen when the males of that area have moved off the nests.
