    Default Yatesville 4/11/2020

Fished yatesville lake today. Fish were few and far between. And the ones we did find were small. This cool snap we’ve had over the last week or so plus the rains have cooled the lake temp back down into the mid to low 50’s.
Talked to a few different guys at the ramp who seem to think the crappie have already spawned out... I really hope not... I’m hoping the cooler weather just pushed them back shallow. Any opinions on this?

I don't know about them already having spawned ... water temps ain't likely been warm enough, long enough for them to have gotten the deed done. Low to mid 50's is prespawn water temps .... aka Pushing Jigs or Longline Trolling temps IMHO.

Keep at it, lil buddy ... you're gonna score bigtime one of these days !!

Thanks for the encouragement Pappy. Water temps were in the mid 60’s last week. I’m hoping this cool off has just slowed them down and they’ll bounce back after next week
