Lake is still ~19' over Summer Pool and falling ... so there may not be any usable ramps for awhile. Plus there's more rain in the forecast and the spill rate of 6000-7000cfs may not continue at that rate if the rains are heavy in that drainage area. Several other lakes in the area drain into the Green River (below the lake) and are currently being pulled at high cfs rates, so heavy rains in the river's drainage area will likely cause the COE to slow down the rates they're being pulled so as to not increase the likelihood of flooding along the Green River.

Not holding my breath. I'm scheduled to fish it late next week but they'd need to pull it down at an average of 1 foot per day for it to be a feasible trip. The Corps hasn't kept the gates wide pen for more than a couple days this spring because of water downstream. If they had planned and completed the stilling basin repair below the dam at a better time of year we wouldn't be in quite so much of a pickle but what do those of us who are on the water 12 months a year know?

Dutch ... I think I'd cancel those plans & get your money back !! Even if we didn't have this virus problem, it would still be VERY IFFY that our Spring Fling could have been pulled off (due to the high water level that will likely still exist by then).

As to the basin repair coming at a very inconvenient time ... it's been reported that the idea/plans were made in plenty of time, but the funding & paperwork was what caused the delay that caused them to start work so late in the year. You know how slow govt. works so it's not all that surprising to me.

Thanks Pappy. I’ve been in contact with the team at Holmes Bend. They’re just as frustrated by the high water as we are and are offering credits on deposits if used within a year. My wife’s family lives in Knifley and are sending us pics of the ramp (or lack thereof) on a regular basis. I will assess the situation on Monday-Tues and pull the trigger. With persistent high water at Green and north KY Lake looking like a septic tank after the rapid rise over the weekend I may end up throwing the kayak in the truck and go bluegill hunting in Shepherdsville.

If it means anything I live 4 miles from a boat ramp we can launch at and we aren’t fishing here on Green. Going to drive to Dale Hollow on Friday. Lake will be down and pulling hard still next week and water will still be high. This lake will be a month away with no heavy rains from getting to a some what normal.

Yeah, the gang at Holmes Bend Marina are good people, and I'm glad they are willing to work with you on the deposit. And don't forget, if this virus mess is behind us by this Fall, I'm considering having a Fall Brawl event at Green (to compensate for having to cancel the Spring Fling).
