oxygen tank

question for anyone that uses oxygen to keep fish alive.Does anyone that uses the medical tank with the pediatric regulator know were you can get the tank filled. I live in the central ky area and am having no luck.I am heading to ky lake in march and was wondering if anywhere that way.

You might call some welding supply places or ask a local welding shop who they get their oxygen from.

You might want to check with your local fire department. They may be able to fill it for you.

There's bound to be a place near you that offers refills, especially with oxygen tanks being a common need for seniors. Maybe ask the local pharmacy if they know of a place?

It's been my experience that when it comes to oxygen or co2 tanks, it's usually an exchange program rather than them filling the one you've got.

Unless you own your tank and you can prove it, or you rent and it came from a welding supply company. Medical tanks are handled by medical supply companies and are much more strict than say a welding shop. IMO it is always best to rent a small welding tank or two and just exchange them as they empty.

So I assume the benefits of using an oxygen tank instead of an aerator is mobility? No need for a power source?

Was wondering the same thing. HAVE RUN AERATOR FOR YEARS WITH OUT ISSUES.

#1 if you have a medical tank 95% of the time they will not fill without a prescription.
#2 when getting a standard tank even small the regulators in most cases won’t interchange.
I have seen guys post hat they have searched around and found oxygen places that will fill them even though they shouldn’t. I have also seen posts where guys rent a big bottle and get adapter to fill their small tanks.

The tournament guys like the oxygen for keeping fish alive better in hot weather. All the fish weighed in have to be alive.
