Commercial guys are on Barkley in Lyon County. They are paying a premium of a few cents per pound more for carp caught in their county. Good businessmen will go where the $$ is.
BTW, there have been over FIVE MILLION pounds of Asian carp caught out of Lyon County waters since early summer. That’s a lot of back-breaking work.

Maybe Marshall County should look into a stipend for the commercial fisherman like Lyon County.. The Asian carp situation in Jonathan Creek is terrible. The population is so thick the Ky. Dept of Fish and Wildlife should be allowing the commercial fisherman to use shocking to harvest as many as they can.

RL56 and all, Yep, wish there was a way to help the commercial fisherman more on $$/pound to get these out of the lakes. I personally, would add $20 to donate (optional) at payment time for my fishing license to a 'fund' to help bump up the price for these fish/lb sales for the commercial fisherman state wide. I think it's just a matter of time before these carp get into our other streams/lakes.

It will be interesting to see what they do with the unified method in Feb or March, sounds like a huge deal with huge numbers of fish expected - fish will be free to any processors willing to take them.

Either Smith Bay on KY Lake or Demumbers on Barkley are the two bays I've heard mentioned for the attempt of the method.
