Don't plan on fishing Green River Lake for a while.
They are doing maintenance on the splash box below the dam. Only enough water piped downstream to keep towns water supply from drying up.
We have been under Flash Flood Warnings most of the day. Several inches of rain today has really messed up their plans. Water is in the parking lot at Green River Marina. More rain coming.
Unless of course you like fishing like that, not that there is anything wrong with it.

Yeah, dangit ... I was chompin' at the bit to fish it at 670 & then all this stuff(dam work + low flow + heavy rain = no fishing for Pappy)
And I was even thinking about MAYBE it would be possible around mid Dec .... and now it's 8FT over SUMMER Pool and rising, which means it's 12ft over where I want it to be & 14ft over Winter Pool, RIGHT NOW. Sheesh, I can't get a break on Green.

I wish i took pictures of green river at Middleburg and Yosemite this morning on my way home from work. Pappy bad news don't be surprised if it don't come up another 5 to 10 foot and maybe more if they don't start pulling it....Way Way over its banks. It is 150 yards wide where it is normally 30 feet wide...You might get what you want in Jan. some time....

Pappy, and all. Thanks for the information. Just wonder how high Green will need to get before they have NO choice, but to start releasing a pile of water. I was looking to plan a trip to KY/Barkley in the next week or two, but I'm sure with all the rain here in KY and TN, they both will have a pile of water coming in and they too will be above summer pool shortly I think, but just don't know. I sure this rain will also affect Taylorsville, and Cave Run for upcoming fishing opportunities. My local stream, Elkhorn Creek is above it's backs today. May have to look to the FINS lakes for some fishing in December.

PJ .... you can check water levels for T-ville, Ky/Barkley, Green, & Cumberland here : Lake Levels in Kentucky, United States ... but, for whatever reason Cave Run is not listed there, so for Cave Run you'll have to check here : Louisville District Daily Lake Report
The "Lake Levels" link shows levels at different times of each day, while the Corps website link is only updated once a day (early AM). On the Lake Levels link, if you click on the blue highlighted lake name it will show you a chart (1yr long) and the levels of the past two years on each day (for comparison).
I don't think I'd rule out KY/Barkley just yet, nor would I rule out Cumberland. Taylorsville & Green are pretty much hosed for the time being, but Cave Run is still in play (considering water levels only).

As of Monday 12/2, GRL is 14 feet above summer pool. Green River Marina parking lot is covered and guard rail going to lot is also half under water.

Drove over dam today. Splash box had little in it. One person working and equipment laying everywhere. 3 large pipe was running over splash box to river below. Maybe half of normal flow. Went over the dike. Green River Marina parking lot completely under water. Rest room roof about 6" out of water.
