Default 4 lb Crappie from Cedar Creek?

Saw a picture of a monster crappie. Was told it was a 4 ponder caught recently from Cedar Creek. That’s every bit of the details I know. The lake of its origins being Cedar Creek could be absolutely true or entirely not.
Details anyone? It’s a fantastic fish for sure?

Wouldn't surprise me, as I've heard of 2lb Crappie coming from the lake MANY years ago. I think I've only caught one "keeper" out of that lake, but that was way back when there was a size limit (& only a few years after the lake was opened). The lake is supposed to only have Black Crappie in it (originally), but I've caught White Crappie & Blacknose Black Crappie out of it in the past.

And we do have to remember that the KY State Record Crappie was caught out of a "watershed lake", albeit down in the western part of the state, and "Jam" Ferguson caught a World Record Crappie out of a private pond down in Tenn. so the possibility of one that big coming from Cedar Creek is there.

The man that owned/ran the little store next to the lake (dam ramp road) showed me pics of some of the Shellcracker he caught out of the lake that weighed several pounds ... and that was only a few years after the lake opened.

Had it not been for the Shad coming back into the lake (for whatever reason) ... I'd venture to say that the Crappie & Shellcracker (and maybe even the Bluegill) would have been in the "huge" category for many years ... even with the yahoos taking out buckets full of handsize Crappie during the early years.

Another post I read said it officially weighed 4.2lb. And that was.2 short of the state record of 4.4.

State Record in KY is 4lbs 14oz (Penny Hopper - watershed lake in Western KY - 2005) or ~ 4.9lbs

KY does not differentiate between Black, White, or their hybrids ... but considers them all in one group - "Crappie". Penny's fish was considered for a World Record Black Crappie, but because it was a hybrid it did not qualify for World Record status, but did qualify for the State Record.
