Default Had a bad plan change today

Going to green, put the boat in and bang lower unit had a big crack in it. So we fished around holmes bend for a hour or so until the marina up the road opened. On the brite we did catch 17 keepers. Couple of them was pretty good fish. Believe it or not but he got me all fixed up before dark. Hopefully, i am ready to give it another try....every year i change the lower unit oil at the end of October. This being the first year i didnt.

Ouch !! Sorry to hear that, buddy ... but glad you got it fixed up. Wonder if it was water in the lower unit oil or in the lower unit itself (& froze from the low temps) ?? Hopefully the mechanics checked the gears/rods while replacing or repairing the lower unit housing.

That reminds me to lower my motor and drain out any water collected from recent rain/snow & then cover the prop/opening with Walmart bags like I normally would do this time of year.

Reminds me to check mine before winter sets in. Sorry about your luck, at least you caught a few keepers.

If it was not for bad luck i would have any luck. But luck didnt have anything to do with that it is all on me for not changing the oil in it 3 weeks ago instead of setting around...lol
