1st I think the FIN lake program is great for all of us and I know a lot of effort and money is spent keeping these lakes stocked. But, Lake Lusby in Georgetown (Fishery managed by KYFW) is currently covered 90% with moss. It is always covered with moss, ranging from 40% to current 90% coverage except for Winter. I'm sure when they stock the lake they have to put the fish in through the moss, unless the wind is favorable away from the stocking area. The last stocking of Catfish in July, most of if not all died, and their decaying bodies were stuck in the moss for weeks. It was a nasty, stinky mess. I was there today, no wind, and only about 100 feet around the entire lake/pond was fishable due to the moss. I would think we have some capable people at our KYFW would or could manage this problem with the constant moss problem. At least drop in some grass crap on the next stoking if this would help. If you know who can help, forward my note to them. Sorry, but you would have to see this pond/lake today to understand.
