Default Central KY business recommendations to pay to mount SI transducer?

Just wondering if anyone has had or can recommend somewhere I can take my boat to have my helix SI transducer mounted correctly? I've spent hours reading and tried 3 different spots on the boat and it's still not reading correctly. I'm getting aggravated and just want to pay someone to know it's done correctly! Thanks

DUDE .... where you been ?? Missed you at the Fling !!

Do you have any screen pics showing what makes you think it's not mounted properly ?? Or pics of where it's currently mounted ??

I'd say places like Stokley's "could/would" mount it for you ... but, not sure they'd know any more than you do. (not to mention they stay backed up a couple months worth of work, most of the time)

I know Chucky has a 1198 on his boat (alum), but I don't know who mounted the tdx. What boat are you putting it on ?? Maybe I can check with him and see who mounted his and see if any specific or similar problems were encountered.

Hello Pappy! I hated that I missed the fling. It's been a crazy year at work and I havn't had much time to do anything. I posted several pictures on here a few months ago and got several recommendations from Ricky and a few other guys. I've tried mounting it in 3 different spots and it's still not right. I'm mounting it on a Procraft 16 bass just like yours. Just getting aggravated I've spent that much money on electronics and lake cards and still cant get good readings. So many variables in mounting these things I'm hoping to find an expert I can pay to do it right. lol. I'm almost certain its not the settings or the unit as I've had 2 different units with the same results.

Having used a ProCraft 185 for quite a while, I can understand the frustration as that hull is a bit tricky with the "step" in the back, I always hated how I had to nearly crawl up under there to reach the drain plug. A shoot-thru transducer was about as good as it got with that boat, as mounting anything externally was tough with the hull shape/design. I'd say your only option on the stern for side imaging would be mounting it and knowing that you're only going to get readings at idle, and use the Humminbird splitter/Y adapter to add the high speed transducer to shoot through the hull for when you're on plane.

Thanks for info Art! Glad to find out it’s not just me having problems. The back of the boat definitely has a different layout! I was assuming that’s the main reason for the bad readings

I second HiTek Outdoors. Talk with Matt and if you can afford it take the on the water course and he will make sure it is right while he teaches you how to take advantage of the technology
