    Default Questions about Dewey lake

Thinking of heading down to Dewey lake either this weekend or Memorial Day and fishing it for the first time. Couple of questions.
    1) what is the best ramp to use? I have a 17ft fiberglass boat.
    2) where can a person get minnows close to the lake?
    3) how does trolling cranks/ longlining jigs work on this lake? Very productive, or better off drowning minnows around brush?
    4) general suggestions on where to start... never been on this lake before and will be taking my girlfriend with me. Probably be spending the morning cruising around exploring the lake, I would be really greatful if someone could sort of give me a general direction to start... not a specific spot or anything, just a side of the lake to start on or areas to avoid.

    Thanks all!
    Jesse

I have printed out the kdfw map of fish attractors. I keep a binder in the boat with maps for all the lakes I fish.

I would try to make it this week-end. Joy riders be on the lake big time Memorial week-end. The lake not that big and has and all the silk running in from Strip mines has almost got the lake unfishable. Lots of shallow water. From 23 South take 302 to the lake. After going about 3 miles going straight through red light there is a bait store on the right called Anglers Bait and Tackle about 1/4 of mile. You can buy minnows and tackle here. The first ramp you come to would be the Marina holler ramp use this one or go past this one about 3/4 of a mile be your next ramp. This would be the old swimming pool ramp. This is the one I used most of the time. That 302 rt goes all way to dam so roadside of the lake is fishable by all bank fishing. This lake is better for minnows lot of brush on banks. Most the spawning should be winding down. Put in at swimming pool ramp the Fish and Wildlife has set lot of brush out in this holler.
