Large Fish Kill
If the Western Kentucky Biologist reads this site, or someone has frequent contact, what is going on with the large fish kill in the Little River Area, Dryson Bay (Party Bay)? Large numbers of drum, mixed with some crappie, white bass and bream, again majority appear to be smaller drum? Not good. Anyone else seeing the amount of dead fish around the area?

I was out yesterday morning there were more than I could count, but tonight the bay was covered up with dead fish, took the boat out to see what they were and unfortunately it is a mixture of fish.

Something very similar happened last year, but most of the fish last year were yellow bass. I seen the dead fish one day and then read about it the next week on WHOP, don’t hold me to this but I believe it had to do with something like turnover/ low oxygen at a certain depth ???

Can you let me know your findings after taking a look at this? Just walked up from the dock and banks, Bass, Gar, White Bass, Shad, Bluegills mixture of everything, not good.

I will try to let you know if possible. Fish kill investigations can sometimes turn into legal issues.
