Mr Dux - Crappie, Gills n More
Sent from my iPhone using Crappie.com
Guys, I am thinking about hiring a guide to help me learn more about these lakes. I want to learn more about choosing areas to fish and why, what baits and why, and also get a little help with reading electronics. (humminbird SI/DI) I'd like to catch some fish as well but want to mainly learn on the trip. We usually fish casting jigs or live bait, not much for trolling yet, so i'd like someone that uses those methods. Crappie, gills, and redear are main targets, but I do try to land a few green fish every now and again.
Any recommendations?
Thanks
Scott

I would say MR DUX is your man. He should help you with the live bait/gigs stuff for the Bluegill/Shellcracker stuff, but unless he chimes in, he will be 'trolling' for Crappie most of the time for this fish. If you don't like trolling for crappie, then he is not probably going to work for you. But, If you've never experienced his 'cranking' for Crappie technique on a guide trip that he uses, it's pretty amazing and I think you would learn a lot and enjoy the trip. (You will catch crappie and a good chance to catch about anything else in the lake)
M R Dux at Crappie, Gills n More or Jim Doom at Between the Rivers, Jim is well known for redear in May and has been on KY Afield episodes multiple times.
I have a grand total of 4 days open in May right now. If you learn the trolling techniques on these lakes you might forget about the other techniques till cold weather again.

If you want to fish brush piles and cast, spider rig, or single pole, give Sugar Creek Charters a call. Josh Lovett is ALL over them, fish out of Lynnhurst Family Resort.
