    Default KY lake Bluegill

Was out on the lake yesterday and spotted some bluegill beds on the side scan. could these already be turning on? or could it be old beds from last year. I should have fished them, but didnt have the proper tackle.

Earlier this week the F & W people were shocking on N Barkley... they said the redear were spawning but not the crappie yet. That's what they said, they were netting the bass but they left the redear.

Crappie not yet or done already? They have said in the past that crappie are unlikely to spawn once bass and redear start moving in. Hopefully the wave of crappie that spawned a couple weeks ago got it done.

There are always beds in historic spawning areas. Some get silted in, some don’t. If you are side-scanning Gill/redear beds, look for white lines inside the beds. Those are active fish in the beds.
Austin, all the fish I’ve been catching as well as my buddies are still full of runny eggs. I think lots of the crappie are still staging to spawn.

I'm headed out loaded for bear tomorrow morning...we'll see how it all goes. I did hear two very promising redear fishing reports today out on the streets...one at a gas station and the other at a bank in Eddyville.

First guy said he ran into two guys with their limits on redear Wednesday afternoon. The second guy, he's our local mayor, told me his friend caught 10 big redear this week. Most of them were a pound and a half fish. I'm excited to be going out early tomorrow morning.
