Can't report on the fishing there, but have to agree with you about the yellow bass. I never throw back any big enough to fillet! They are amazing. Hope you fill a cooler with them!

Greenfish, I agree on the Yellow Bass. If I could catch Yellow Bass around 8-10", this is what I would go for. The best tasting fish that I found out by mistake a few years ago trying to catch crappie. Caught several decent size fish, filleted them and really liked them. Story. I was at Ky lake, 20-25mph winds for the day in May and decided my little 16ft boat was not going to work. I went to the Irvin Cobb 'Dock' and asked the owner if we could fish off the dock. They let us, and we fished around the fish cleaning station and the Yellow Bass were everywhere. You'd have to catch 6 or more until you got a good one. We ended up with about 35 decent fish for the day. We made sure we spent some money at the dock for bait, food, drinks, ice to help him out. Appreciated the dock owner letting us fish, otherwise, we probably would have spent the day in our cabin.

That’s a cool story! Thanks for sharing.

I usually start wearing out the yellow bass in late May on a jigging spoon, all the way through Labor Day. I'll let you know if they happen to show up early.
