    Default Taylorsville With The Ladies

Well we went back to Taylorsville yesterday, fought the wind, muddy water and boat traffic, lost prob 15 jigs from the wind hanging us up in the stickups, but had a great day. In my boat was my Wife, Mom, Sister in Law and myself. We started spider rigging 1 year ago and have not tried any other form of crappie fishing since we began, as I am the type to be as good as I can be at one thing before moving to another. During the past year my Wife has now graduated with top honors from Seekbigger's Crappie University, she now ties her own rigs, baits her own hooks, takes her own fish off, for the most parts deals with her own hang ups, saves her money to buy jigs and equipment, has moved up to 12 and 14 foot rods and waits on me hand and foot, man what a good one. My Sister in Law has moved up as well, she is now a Sophmore in the Crappie University, started out sitting in the bottom of the boat scared to death, to working her own rods, taking her fish off, tying leaders, dealing with her hang ups, also waits on me, using 12 foot rods, still working on the baiting of the hook, lol. My Mom bless her heart does what she can, baits her own hook, takes her fish off, but she is blind as a bat, and when she does catch one the whole lake hears about it, haha. We ended up with around 100 total with 45 nice keepers on our boat yesterday, most fish were caught 12 to 16 ft deep in 30 to 40 fow, baby bass sliders, and bubble gum bumble bees were the best baits of the day, water was 59 degrees, dingy and the wind was terrible. Just thought I would Bragg on my team and some might say I have a way with the Ladies, lol. God Bless and thanks for reading.Name: Capture%2B_2019-04-17-08-17-49~2.jpeg

Good Job, buddy !! Just one question : where'd you find water that clear ??
Water looks a whole lot more "green" than what we fished in around Settlers/Little Beech Creek area, yesterday.

I fished up around Poverty Hollow, Mitchell Run, if I went toward the dam the water was more dingy and if I went toward Timber Creek it was terrible. Not sure why the water was so much better in the middle of the lake but I took advantage of it.

Yeah, I fully expected the river end to be quite muddy, but like you I would have never guessed the mid-lake area to be that clear. We found water temps from 58-62deg where we were, which is why we opted to flog the banks/shallows the whole day. I posted my report/pic in Quailtail's "Taylorsville?" thread.
Most of our fish came "one here, one there", except for one spot that gave up nearly half of our total keepers. Oddly enough, it was right out on the main drag of the lake

Fishing with my wife makes it more fun for me, even when she out fishes me.
