You need to tell him that it is ok to Smile in great shots like that.
Most anybody in my area already know about the Dead Sea.
I've been mostly hitting other bodies of water even though I live right here above the Dead Sea.
I step out on the patio and can see the water conditions in the area where the river becomes the lake.
Lil brother stopped by in his Peterbilt from Maryland long enough to take a little boat ride.
Not knowing the lake, we were checking it out a couple hours before some weather come in yesterday.
Found this.
then this.
One of these was the very rare "Dead Sea notchback" crappie.
He looks happy don't he? My bro...not the fish.

Yes it does !! Though ... it can be a hard lake to pattern them on.
Herrington was where I first learned how deadly "Vertical Casting" can be. There was a large Sycamore tree that had gotten lodged against the cliff wall, just a short way down the bank from the "Ghetto" (what we used to call the floating house/dock that burned down recently). Tie up to that tree, drop a Popeye jig down about 12-15ft deep, then reel it back up "very slowly" and THUMP .... you'd have a 1lb-1.5lb Crappie on. If I'd have had the equipment & know-how ... I'd have secured that tree with cables !! Unfortunately, shortly after the trips I made to fish that tree, it was gone.
I've Crappie fished Herrington since I was a kid, and the Crappie I caught out of that tree were the biggest I've ever caught there.
kycreek, Dock Shooter LIKED above post
It's funny how they like certain structure better than others. I haven't fished Herrington in years. Last time I did it was in the summer and I almost got ran over. I need to start fishing it in the winter some.
