I’m looking on the KY department site and it says no size limit on crappie.
    is this correct?

Several lakes like KY and Barkley have 10” minimum length rules. Check the special regulation part of the fishing guide.

Depends on where you fish :

The "no size limit" is a "statewide" rule ... UNLESS the lake has a size limit on it. Herrington Lake & Cave Run Lake are under the statewide rule of no size limit. The daily creel is 20/person/day .... UNLESS the daily creel limit is less than that. Taylorsville Lake has a 15/person/day creel limit & a 10" size limit.

Next time you're in a Walmart, check at the fishing section counter and pick up a KY Fishing & Boating Guide. All the rules & "exemptions" are posted under each lake listed. Or you can always just click here : https://fw.ky.gov/Fish/Documents/FishingGuide.pdf

Nolin and rough river have a 9" limit. Wish it was 10.

Frank1135, Yep, the regulations are a mess, but the good thing most ramps have the 'special' regulations posted. So, pay close attention when you put in anywhere. Each lake has It's preference for creel an size limit. Here's my best shot at answering your original question: "Statewide regs on crappie,20 fish no size limit".
    So, here' my shot:
So, the 'Statewide' limits are True except:
Barkley, Kentucky Lakes, 10" size limit.
    Barren, 9" size limit.
    Buckhorn, 9" size limit.
    Carr Creek, 9" size limit.
    Dale Hollow, 10", (15 fish)
    Fishtrap, 9" size limit.
    Green River, 9" size limit.
    Cumberland, 10" size limit.
    Laurel, 9" (15 fish)
    Nolin, 9" size limit.
    Rough River 9" size limit.
    Taylorsville, 10" (15 fish).
FIN lakes in general, no size limit, 15 fish limit.
