I am 6’6” and fish a Lowe Stinger 175. I do have to curl up behind the console however, I have no complaints with this boat what so ever. It is very stable due to the wide bow. 85”? I have fished side by side with my 6’5” son, with no trouble. My boat has 50 HP Mercury on it, 2 stroke. Been solid so far. Not a complaint, but I wish it had a 90 on it. It planes out quickly and will hit 31 mph in a snap. A 90 would be perfect though.

I’ve been really happy with my Lund Alaskan 20’ plenty of room for just about anything, but Doug sure has a nice excel with all the bells and whistles that would be hard to beat price wise.

Lund or Alumacraft deep v, 16' tiller would do you just fine. I have a lund alaskan 16' tiller with 60 hp merc. I had the same stability issues as you with past boats. The lund is easy to get in and out of as I usually launch by myself and rope pull it back up to the shore, sit my butt on the bow next to the trolling motor and step my legs in, easy as pie. I am no lightweight at 350 lbs and this boat is as steady as they get. The tiller gives you plenty of room in the boat, the 16' version has a flat floor front to rear without a raised front deck. Sitting in the back with a tiller gives you an excellent ride. I believe Alumacraft has a very similar boat but can't remember the name..........was thinking Outback but I may just have steaks on my mind.Anyhow, feel free to message me if you have additional questions.

I did some research and the Alumacraft boat I was referring to was the "Yukon 165". They quite making it this year although the "Escape" series looks very much like the same boat. The "Classic" series is also close to it. A tiller version makes for a lot of usable room to walk around.
