Thread: Favorite holiday food?

I’m with ya on the fruit cake! my great grand maw used to make some every year and my mom would help her ! I’m fortunate enough that she is still with us but cant cook anymore so I just asked my mom last week to make me one of those fruit cakes since grand maw can’t!

I asked my mom to make it this year! She usually does but skipped last year. I called her out on it lol.
But on a cool side note. I took the original copy of my grandma's fruitcake recipe (in her handwriting) and had someone burn it into a wood cutting board for my mom. So now mom has a copy burned into wood that is in her moms handwriting! Pretty neat

I like turkey breast, cranberry sauce and cornbread dressing (with a little mushed chicken livers). Merliton is a hanging vegetable and is popular in Louisiana. For desert, sweet potato pie or pecan pie with coffee.
